Wellbeing Programmes (892A/22)

Request

1. Does your force have a budget for providing well-being programmes for employees of your force? If so, please say what the spend was in (a) 2019/20, (b) 2020/21 and what is the budget for spending on this in (c) 2021/22?

2. For the last financial year (21/22) what has been your force’s well-being spend on: (i) yoga, (ii) meditation, (iii) winter sports such as skiing (please details the individual sports), (iv) water sports such as canoeing (please detail the individual sports) and (v) cultural activities such as theatre/gallery trips (please detail the individual trips).

Response

1. We don’t have programmes as such, but we do have an EAP (Employee Assistance Programme):

Contract costings for the EAP in the last three financial years were as follows:

19/20 – £49,800

20/21 – £49,800

21/22 – £62,700

2. £Nil, However, there are free mindfulness courses available through The College of Policing and we encourage employees to use the Sports and Social club for sports such as canoeing, swimming etc. which are free and day trips are offered through a discounted rate with the club for full paying members.
