1: How many application packs for Stalking Protection Orders were completed by police officers/staff in West Midlands Police during the period 19th January 2020 – 30th April 2022? (If possible, please indicate the month of application. If this is too onerous, a total is sufficient).

West Midlands Police can state how many were progressed through to legal services for legal files to be opened but don’t hold the raw data for how many were discussed between teams and departments etc.

In the requested period 54 cases were opened by legal services.

1A: Of these application packs, how many were authorised by superintendents and put before the court?

There is no legal requirement for these to be authorised for a Superintendent, 19 applications were put before the court these were a mix of interim and full applications 10 interim applications and 9 full applications

2: Of the Stalking Protection Orders put before the court by West Midlands Police in the period 19th January 2020 – 30th April 2022, how many were granted by the court?

All 19 were granted.

3: How many application packs for Interim Stalking Protection Orders were completed by police officers/staff in West Midlands Police during the period 19th January 2020 – 30th April 2022? (If possible, please indicate the month of application. If this is too onerous, a total is sufficient).

As above in the requested period 54 cases were opened by legal services, these packs were likely sent for review for interim/full advice so we can offer that total number as being sent, 10 interim applications and 9 full applications before the court in that period.

There is no legal requirement for these to be authorised for a Superintendent, 19 applications were put before the court a mix of interim and full applications 10 interim applications and 9 full applications

All 10 interim orders were granted.
