  1. Could you please tell me how many police officers in your force are able to communicate with a deaf person by sign language?
  2. Are there any policies in place regarding sign language within your force?

Response

1. Based on those individuals with sign language skills recorded on our system, the data as at 12 January 2021 is as follows:

2. No information held – There are no specific policies in force regarding sign language.
