Sexual Offences (1386A/22)

For each year since April 2013 please provide:

  1. The number of community resolutions administered to dispose of allegations of sexual offences.

Please note that I am aware that the number of community resolutions administered per year only started being recorded following the amendments to the crime outcomes framework in April 2013, so the first published figures will be in March 2014.

2. If the data is held, please provide a breakdown of the figures given in response to question 1 by categories of sexual offences. For example, whether those allegations related:

a. Rape

b. Assault by penetration

c. Sexual assault

d. Sexual activity with a child

e. Child sexual abuse (such as the offences under ss.10-15A and 17-19 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003)

f. Sexual exploitation of a child

g. Exposure

I also write to request the following document:

As a consequence, care should be taken to ensure data collection processes and their inevitable limitations are taken into account when interpreting those data.

The figures provided therefore are our best interpretation of relevance of data to your request, but you should be aware that the collation of figures for ad hoc requests may have limitations and this should be taken into account when those data are used.

If you decide to write an article / use the enclosed data we would ask you to take into consideration the factors highlighted in this document so as to not mislead members of the public or official bodies, or misrepresent the relevance of the whole or any part of this disclosed material.
