References for Dismissed Officers (193A/23)
a) If an officer or staff get the sack while they are in the force, do you mention that they got the sack when giving any kind of references to employers?
b) If they resigned before getting the sack, in the references given, is it mentioned that they resigned before getting the sack, or just the dates of employment and reason for leaving is resignation?
a) We provide a ‘dismissal’ reference confirming the person’s employment dates and the fact they were dismissed.
b) Depending on the scenario, such as still being under investigation or outcome of an accelerated misconduct hearing, we provide references covering: resigned whilst under investigation, resigned whilst suspended, resigned whilst suspended (now dismissed), dismissal post-resignation.
