- With respect to your entire fleet of police vehicles please confirm;
- What, if any, vehicle insurance policies do you have in place
- What is the level of coverage of each policy (i.e. Comprehensive or Third Party)
- What type of damage/loss does each policy cover
- Specifically please confirm whether any policy provides for compensation and/or any other monetary payment for personal injury/losses suffered by police officers driving police vehicles, who are injured when authorised “pre-emptive” Tactical Pursuit and Containment measures (to include, but not limited to tactical contact of a suspect vehicle) are executed by them.
- Specifically please confirm whether any policy provides for compensation and/or any other monetary payment for personal injury/losses suffered by police officers who are being carried as a passenger in a police vehicle, who are injured when authorised “pre-emptive” Tactical Pursuit and Containment measures (to include, but not limited to tactical contact of a suspect vehicle) are executed by the driver of their Police Vehicle
- Do you have any other (non-vehicle) insurance policies that provide for compensation and/or any other monetary payment for personal injury/losses suffered by police officers injured in circumstances as described in 1d. and 1e. above. If so please provide details of those policies and scope of coverage.

No insurance policy held under the WMP Insurance Programme provides for compensation in these circumstances

Specifically please confirm whether any policy provides for compensation and/or any other monetary payment for personal injury/losses suffered by police officers who are being carried as a passenger in a police vehicle, who are injured when authorised “pre-emptive” Tactical Pursuit and Containment measures (to include, but not limited to tactical contact of a suspect vehicle) are executed by the driver of their Police Vehicle?
Under the third party coverage, if a passenger is able to prove negligence on the part of the driver of a WMP vehicle then any claim brought would be considered.
