Please may you provide me with?

 

The number of crimes recorded by your force in 2020 AND between 1/1/2021 and 31/06/2021 in which the initial incident report mentions the word “e-scooter” or “electric scooter”. Please note: this is where e-scooters are simply mentioned within the crime log rather than the focus of (or reason for) the offence.

 

Please provide a breakdown of these crimes including:

 

  • the month of the crime
  • the offence(s) recorded
  • the investigation outcome
  • a summary of the crime report describing the circumstances of the offence

Also, please provide me with the amount of e-scooters you have seized in 2020 AND between 1/1/2021 and 31/06/2021

Response

Please be advised that the information that you have requested is not available in a readily retrievable format. In relation Question 2 for the year 2020 as E-scooter was not a central recording category within our systems. We have since started recording this information from 2021, therefore please see attached for this time period.

 

Therefore the cost of providing you with the information is above the amount to which we are legally required to respond i.e. the cost of locating and retrieving the information exceeds the ‘appropriate level’ as stated in the Freedom of Information (Fees and Appropriate Limit) Regulations 2004.

 

In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000, this letter acts as a Refusal Notice for this part of the request and if one part of a request exceeds the fees limit then S12 of the Act applies to the whole request

 

However, In accordance with Section 16 of the Act I have a duty to provide advice and assistance in relation to your request and can provide information in relation to Question 1 and information for 2021 for Question 2 as explained above.

 

This should not be taken as a precedent that additional information would be supplied outside of the time/fees legislation for any subsequent requests
