Sexual Assaults and Rapes (1482A/22)
Request
I am requesting the following data for the financial years 2020/21 and 2021/22:
a) Total number of sexual assaults* and rapes^, broken down by offence type
b) For each offence, partial post-code data (e.g. B4) of where the sexual assault took place
* ‘Sexual Assault’ to only include; Assault on a female by penetration, Assault on a male by penetration, Sexual assault on a female and Sexual assault on a male
^ ‘Rape’ to only include; Attempted rape of a female aged 16 or over, Attempted rape of a male aged 16 or over, Rape of a female aged 16 or over and Rape of a male aged 16 or over

Please note that these data should be interpreted with caution. Comparing numbers of incidents/crimes can be misleading and does not necessarily indicate the likelihood of someone being a victim of crime. In addition, the number of incidents/crimes recorded in an area over a period of time can be influenced by a number of factors. Consequently statistics on incidents/crimes for one period may not necessarily be a good indicator of future incidents in that area.
