Response

Our data are not organised in such a way as to allow us to provide this information within the appropriate (cost) limit within the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act (see ‘Reason for Decision’ below).

Brothels are usually managed by local Neighbour-hood Policing Units.  Members of the public make reports to the police regarding premises that they consider to be a Brothel and the activities that they have observed.  The neighbour-hood Police Units then actively attend these locations.

A Brothel “raid” is not recorded in a retrievable format.  If such a warrant were to be actioned then this would be at a local policing level.

In order to locate this information that you require every local policing area would have to locate and evaluate each warrant, and then drill down deeper into each, to locate:

1. The dates of any brothel raids conducted in 2021

2. How many police officers were present in each raid

3. How many people (excluding police) were in the brothel at the time of the raid

4. How many people were arrested as a result of each raid

5. How many of the arrestees were men

6. How many of the arrestees were women

7. If you hold the information how many of the arrestees were transgender

8. How many people were referred to immigration enforcement as a result of the raid

9. How many people referred to immigration enforcement were men

10. How many people referred to immigration enforcement were women

11. If you hold the information how many of the people referred to immigration enforcement were transgender
