Hate Crime (1431A/21)

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act. I wish to request information on the amount of LGBTQ+ hate crime in the last 10 calendar years.
Specifically, I would like information on:
1) The total number of LGBTQ+ hate crimes recorded by your force each year since 2011. Numbers should be broken down by calendar year. If you record homophobic and transgender hate crime separately, please provide data for both.
2) The total number of LGBTQ+ hate crimes recorded by your force each month since June 2010 to the present. Numbers should be broken down by month. If you record homophobic and transgender hate crime separately, please provide data for both.
3) The total number of hate crimes recorded over the same period, for comparison. Numbers should be broken down by calendar year.
In addition: if you have begun collecting data on crimes of violence motivated by misogyny, as the UK government instructed police forces to do in March, please include these initial findings broken down by month.

Please find attached our response and be advised that we do not currently have any data for violence motivated by misogyny.

However, it is important to note that these data have been extracted from a number of data sources used by forces for police purposes. The detail collected to respond specifically to your request is subject to the inaccuracies inherent in any large scale recording system. As a consequence, care should be taken to ensure data collection processes and their inevitable limitations are taken into account when interpreting those data.
The figures provided therefore are our best interpretation of relevance of data to your request, but you should be aware that the collation of figures for ad hoc requests may have limitations and this should be taken into account when those data are used.
