I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information regarding car cruising in the West Midlands:
1) How many people have been arrested and prosecuted for illegal car cruising in the West Midlands in the past twelve months?
Response
Please be advised that we do not have any records of arrests or out of court disposals with an offence title ‘Car Cruising’. However, the Force have arrested one person specifically for breach of the injunction over the past twelve months. Other arrests / enforcement have been made under different legislation.
Please note that some injunctions have been paused due to legal rulings and this affects enforcement activity but is not within the Force’s control.
