FPN- Lower Queen Street in Sutton Coldfield(777A/21)

Request

Lower Queen Street in Sutton Coldfield town centre has a “No right turn” at its junction with Holland Road.

I’ve been informed, this “No right turn” has been in force since 1971.

I ask, using a Freedom of Information Request.

1] How prosecutions have there been, for turning right at this junction, since 1971?

If no record exists, going back to 1971

2] How many prosecutions have there been, for turning right at this junction, since January 2019?

Response

Please note that these data should be interpreted with caution.

Every effort is made to ensure that the figures presented are accurate and complete. However, it is important to note that these data have been extracted from a number of data sources used by forces for police purposes. The detail collected to respond specifically to your request is subject to the inaccuracies inherent in any large scale recording system. As a consequence, care should be taken to ensure data collection processes and their inevitable limitations are taken into account when interpreting those data.

The figures provided therefore are our best interpretation of relevance of data to your request, but you should be aware that the collation of figures for ad hoc requests may have limitations and this should be taken into account when those data are used.

We are unable to provide data from 1971as data is not retained that far back within our current systems, data would have been recorded locally within the smaller forces. These smaller forces joined together to make West Midlands police in 1974.

Therefore as specified we have searched our systems from 2019 and can provide the following data, please find this below.

2019 – 2 tickets, – no prosecution

2020 – 1 ticket – no prosecution

2021 – 1 ticket – no prosecution

If you decide to write an article / use the enclosed data we would ask you to take into consideration the factors highlighted in this document so as to not mislead members of the public or official bodies, or misrepresent the relevance of the whole or any part of this disclosed material.
