I would like to know how many officers currently have been provided with specific training to provide support for vulnerable victims.
With that in mind, it would be really useful if you could identify any training or support that officers have received when it comes to supporting those who are living with sight loss, and have been victims of a crime.
If the information is available would it please be possible to show how this number compares to 2017 and 2016.
I am writing to inform you that we have searched our records and the information you requested is not held by West Midlands Police.
As part of their initial training, all student officers are taught to identify vulnerable victims and witnesses including people with sight/hearing impairments. This training is delivered by way of a discussion group exercise and so no formal training plan or guidance is available.
