Staffing Crime Scenes (9977_17)
I read with interest recent articles in the Birmingham Mail and Coventry Telegraph describing a study by the West Midlands Police analysing 27,000 hours of police work. As recounted, the police force is considering the implications of its findings for staffing of crime scenes.
My purpose in writing is to request a copy of the document or a a summary of same that is more detailed than the newspaper articles.
Please find attached a document that we have located relevant to your request. The document is in relation to a one month analysis of the Force Support Unit work. The findings do come with caveats; it was only looking at work that had been handed over from shift to shift, therefore, watches that were completed in the tour of duty would not be in the analysis.
