Please provide, for financial year 2011/12 and 2012/13 and 2013 to date:

1. Numbers of incidents classified with a sexual offence opening code and closed with a non-crime code.

2. If possible please indicate if possible the % and number of these non-crimed incidents where the incident code is for rape. (If part (ii) will take this request over available time limits please ignore).

Please note, we have interpreted your request to be referring to crimes of sexual offences that we have recorded, and then had grounds to no-crime (including having recorded same offence twice in error) by date no-crimed. Please see following table:

As a consequence, care should be taken to ensure data collection processes and their inevitable limitations are taken into account when interpreting those data.

The figures provided therefore are our best interpretation of relevance of data to your request, but you should be aware that the collation of figures for ad hoc requests may have limitations and this should be taken into account when those data are used.

If you decide to write an article / use the enclosed data we would ask you to take into consideration the factors highlighted in this document so as to not mislead members of the public or official bodies, or misrepresent the relevance of the whole or any part of this disclosed material.
