Type of charges brought against Police Officers in West Midlands Police for sexual offences against children, for owning child pornography, eliciting sexual acts against children and other related offences. Please can this information primarily be for the year 2012 and then also for the last 5 years spanning 2007-2012.


The following information has been extracted from our Professional Standards Department’s database:

Please note the data refer to the number of officers charged and not the number of officers convicted of such offences.

2012 2 Officers charged with ‘entice child to engage in sexual activity’.
2011 2 Officers charged with ‘historic sexual abuse’
2010 1 Officer charged with ‘indecency with children’

The Professional Standards Department’s database does not show any such offences as those requested prior to 2010.

In addition to the above, West Midlands Police can neither confirm nor deny that they hold any other information relevant to the whole of your request by virtue of Section 23(5) (Information supplied by, or concerning, certain security bodies).
