I am seeking information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 in relation to sexual assaults on board aircraft at Birmingham Airport.

To that end, could you provide me with: number of reported sexual assaults of all nature that have taken place on board aircraft landing at Birmingham (or taking off, if it has been brought to West Midlands Police’s attention).

Please provide this data broken down by calendar year between 2005 and 2015 (ie. 2005, 2006, up to and including 2015). Note, if this data is only available by financial year (ie. 2005/6) then please provide this instead.

For each year, please indicate how many reports led to an arrest and, if possible, to court proceedings.

Please provide this information by email (details below). If you have a question about this request, please contact me by reply to this email or call on the number below.

Please find attached our response.

The figures provided therefore are our best interpretation of relevance of data to your request, but you should be aware that the collation of figures for ad hoc requests may have limitations and this should be taken into account when those data are used.

If you decide to write an article / use the enclosed data we would ask you to take into consideration the factors highlighted in this document so as to not mislead members of the public or official bodies, or misrepresent the relevance of the whole or any part of this disclosed material.
