Response Times (4909_14)

Request / Response

Could you please forward the following details in relation to the above Act.

1. How many deployments have failed to meet the Immediate Response time of 15 minutes in the last 12 months.

The enclosed table provides graded response times from 01 April 2013 to 31 March 2014

2.  How many deployments have failed to meet the Early response time of 60 Minutes in the last 12 months.

As above

3. How many deployments have failed to meet the routine response time of 72 hours in the last 12 months.

As above

4. Could you confirm what financial penalties have your force received as a result of these failures and what guidance has been given to improve your response times.

Response time standards are set through the NPIA National Contact Management Principles and Practice 2012 document, which can be found here:

This document sets out a set of principles and practice and are therefore not nationally mandated targets.

Every effort is made to ensure that the figures presented are accurate and complete. However, it is important to note that the detail collected to respond specifically to your request is subject to the inaccuracies inherent in any large scale recording system. As a consequence, care should be taken to ensure data collection processes and their inevitable limitations are taken into account when interpreting those data.

The figures provided therefore are our best interpretation of relevance of data to your request, but you should be aware that the collation of figures for ad hoc requests may have limitations and this should be taken into account when those data are used.

While we are happy to provide data to you in this instance, I would like to remind you that similar or related requests can be aggregated for the purposes of calculating the appropriate limit (Section 12 of the FOI Act) or if they can be characterised as particularly burdensome (Section 14).

As recommended as good practice by the Information Commissioner’s Office a version of this response may be published on the West Midlands Police website.
