Response

West Midlands Police has not trialled and neither at this point in time does it intend to trial any type of any “off the shelf” product that deliver “Predictive Policing” capability.  Our Data Driven Insight Program has explored the opportunities that data science can bring to policing through advanced statistical analysis of our data to provide us with insight about complex policing problems regarding vulnerability.  It has done this as a proof of concept exercise only and at this time has not utilised any of the insight gained to change operational or policy decisions.  We continue to explore the ethical use of such technologies in policing.
