  1. What is the position of the West Midlands Police in regard to people who ignore the request or have not been contacted in relation to ESA?

All members in receipt of an injury award have been sent a declaration of benefits form to complete. On failure to return this form a reminder is sent. On a second failure to return this form a final reminder is issued advising no return of the form may impact of the payment of their injury award. The process for 2018 return has not yet been concluded.

  1. Is there any claw back policy in relation to ESA and non compliance by individuals?

Yes- if it is found that a benefit has not been declared full claw back will be requested.

Every effort is made to ensure that the figures presented are accurate and complete. However, it is important to note that these data have been extracted from a number of data sources used by forces for police purposes. The detail collected to respond specifically to your request is subject to the inaccuracies inherent in any large scale recording system. As a consequence, care should be taken to ensure data collection processes and their inevitable limitations are taken into account when interpreting those data.
