How we are working to keep our FOI Requests running during COVID-19

Fixed Speed Camera’s (1076/16)

In late 2014, the local press in the West Midlands indicated that the Police and Crime Commissioner was thinking about turning some fixed speed cameras back on the West Midlands.

Can you tell me whether any fixed cameras have been turned back on?

If so, where are they located?

Can you also tell me about any progress to turn any other fixed safety cameras on within the West Midlands.

As at the date of your request, no cameras have yet been turned on within the West Midlands area.

When / if a decision is made by the relevant council to turn the camera’s back on, the public will be advised of this decision.

West Midlands Police is fully committed to involving and listening to the public it serves, to create safer communities by working with councils on matters such as road safety.
