Fines (1164A/20)

Request

I am looking into the revenue collected by West Midlands Police through speeding fines imposed by fixed cameras and police patrol cars.

I am sending this request under the Freedom of Information Act to ask for the following information.

  1. Please provide the number of speeding fines imposed during 1 January 2020-30 November 2020 inclusive.
  2. Please provide a breakdown by month e.g., January, February etc. and please provide a breakdown by “speed camera” and “police patrol car”.
  3. If you have the records per town or city in your region, and if it does not take you over the 18-hour limit, I would be grateful for these figures (question 2) broken down per town or city e.g., Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry etc.
  4. Please let me have the total revenue collected through parking tickets during 1 January 2020-30 November 2020 inclusive.
  5. Please provide a breakdown by month e.g., January, February etc. and please provide a breakdown by “speed camera” and “police patrol car”.
  6. If you have the records per town or city in your region, and if it does not take you over the 18-hour limit, I would be grateful for these figures (question 5) broken down per town or city e.g., Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry etc.
  7. During this period, how many drivers chose to take up your option to attend speed awareness courses?
  8. Please supply a website link or PDF document which explains how West Midlands Police use this revenue.

During the period I have mentioned how was the money used and how much was spent?

Clarification received 09/12/2020:

Please let me clarify 4, 5 & 6.

  1. Please let me have the total revenue collected through imposing speeding fines during 1 January 2020-30 November 2020 inclusive.
  2. Please provide a breakdown by month e.g., January, February etc. and please provide a breakdown by “speed camera” and “police patrol car”.
  3. If you have the records per town or city in your region, and if it does not take you over the 18-hour limit, I would be grateful for these figures (question 5) broken down per town or city e.g., Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry etc.

Regarding 8 & 9 these pertain to speeding fines – so how is the revenue collected from speeding fines used and is there a breakdown of the money spent during 1 Jan-30 Nov inclusive, please?
