Dog Theft (19220/19)
I would like to request the following information under the Freedom of Information Act for the 12-month period up to the end of October (i.e. from 1/11/18 to 31/10/19).
* How many dogs were stolen in your force area in the 12 month period?
* For each of these thefts can you tell me the breed of the dog, the location the dog was stolen from (or the situation i.e. while being walked, from owner’s home etc.), the value of the dog, whether the dog was ever returned to its owner and whether anyone was ever arrested and then convicted for the theft.
Please find attached (19220_19_attachment.pdf).
Every effort is made to ensure that the figures presented are accurate and complete. As a consequence, care should be taken to ensure data collection processes and their inevitable limitations are taken into account when interpreting those data.
The figures provided therefore are our best interpretation of relevance of data to your request, but you should be aware that the collation of figures for ad hoc requests may have limitations and this should be taken into account when those data are used.
If you decide to write an article / use the enclosed data we would ask you to take into consideration the factors highlighted in this document so as to not mislead members of the public or official bodies, or misrepresent the relevance of the whole or any part of this disclosed material.
