Coronavirus (COVID-19)

How we are working to keep our FOI Requests running during COVID-19

Coventry Nightclubs (1177_15)

I am looking to obtain information under the Freedom of Information Act regarding crimes in or on the premises of certain night clubs in Coventry.

I would like to know the number of knife and assault crimes reported over a period of five years either in or on the premises of the Coventry night clubs listed below.

By knife crimes, I mean possession of a knife or a sharp object or wounding or stabbings with a knife or sharp object.

By assault crimes I mean common assault crimes, battery, GBH, ABH and wounding.

I would like this information to be categorised by type of such crime and given in annual data sets for each of the years in the period 2009-2014. I would also like the information for 2015 so far.

The night clubs I would like this information for are The Kasbah (Primrose Hill Street),  Club M (Croft Road),  Society (Tower Street), Carters (The SkyDome) Scholars (Far Gosford Street) and Jumping Jacks (The SkyDome).

I would like to know the which of the reports had an outcome of ‘Charge’.

Please see attached (1177_attachment_01.pdf). Please note, our search produced no relevant results for Society (Tower Street).

Every effort is made to ensure that the figures presented are accurate and complete. However, it is important to note that these data have been extracted from a number of data sources used by forces for police purposes. The detail collected to respond specifically to your request is subject to the inaccuracies inherent in any large scale recording system. As a consequence, care should be taken to ensure data collection processes and their inevitable limitations are taken into account when interpreting those data.

The figures provided therefore are our best interpretation of relevance of data to your request, but you should be aware that the collation of figures for ad hoc requests may have limitations and this should be taken into account when those data are used.

If you decide to write an article / use the enclosed data we would ask you to take into consideration the factors highlighted in this document so as to not mislead members of the public or official bodies, or misrepresent the relevance of the whole or any part of this disclosed material.
