Coronavirus FPN”s issued re-Travel (224A/20)

Could you please provide me with the following information?
1. From March 23 2020 to May 26 2020, how many fines were issued by your force to members of the public for breaking travel restrictions due to the coronavirus lockdown measures?
2. Of those fined, how many claimed that the reason they were travelling was because of issues relating to childcare?
Response
Please be advised that the information that you have requested is not available in a readily retrievable format. In relation if the FPN to childcare or not, as each officer that had issued an FPN would need to be contacted and each FPN reviewed to see if the circumstances of the breach was recorded within the FPN record.
Therefore the cost of providing you with the information is above the amount to which we are legally required to respond i.e. the cost of locating and retrieving the information exceeds the ‘appropriate level’ as stated in the Freedom of Information (Fees and Appropriate Limit) Regulations 2004.
In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000, this letter acts as a Refusal Notice for this part of the request and if one part of a request exceeds the fees limit then S12 of the Act applies to the whole request
However, In accordance with Section 16 of the Act I have a duty to provide advice and assistance in relation to your request and can provide information in relation to FPN’’s issued
Information of this nature will continue to be routinely published as part of Operation Talia.
