Coronavirus (COVID-19)

How we are working to keep our FOI Requests running during COVID-19

Aston Hotel (3894_15)

Please could I request information about how many emergency number calls have been made on the Aston hotel (393 Witton Road, Aston, Birmingham b6 6ns) in the last 5 years?

In the last 5 years how many could I have the number of calls made each year individually and also crime committed?

We can confirm that some relevant information is held by West Midlands Police. However, while the majority of the information is attached to this email I am afraid that I am not required by statute to release all of the information requested. The remainder of the information requested above is exempt under Section 30(1) of the Freedom of Information Act. This letter serves as a Refusal Notice under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act).

The Freedom of Information Act places two responsibilities on public authorities, the first of which is to confirm what information it holds and secondly to then disclose that information, unless exemptions apply.

In this case, this letter represents a Refusal Notice for the information that has not been disclosed. The information is exempt by virtue of the following exemptions:

Section 30 (1)(a) Investigations and Proceedings Conducted by Public Authorities

These exemptions and explanatory notes are shown here:

In line with the above, I am required to complete a Prejudice Test/Public Interest Test (PIT) on disclosure. Please find this PIT attached (3894_PIT).
