Request

1) How many under 16s were arrested for possession of a firearm in the last five years (including

2013-14), with the numbers broken down for each year.

5) I would like to know the age of the youngest person arrested for possession of a controlled

substance, when this was, the gender of the child and whether they were charged.

In 1,3 and 4 I would like to know how many of the youngsters were charged and detained for court after their arrest, or whether there was ‘no further action’ taken by police.

The detail collected to respond specifically to your request is subject to the inaccuracies inherent in any large scale recording system. As a consequence, care should be taken to ensure data collection processes and their inevitable limitations are taken into account when interpreting those data.

The figures provided therefore are our best interpretation of relevance of data to your request, but you should be aware that the collation of figures for ad hoc requests may have limitations and this should be taken into account when those data are used.
