Rest Days (11691_17 )

Request

I would like to confirm that I’d like to receive information on the following:
1. A ‘live’ view of how many rest days are owed by the force to officers for the following dates
31/03/2016
31/01/2017
13/10/2017

2.The amount of rest days that have been taken by officers during the times specified below. Which would be the data from the last 2 HMIC reports we have submitted.

01/04/2016 – 31/03/2017
01/04/2017 – 31/01/2017 (the HMIC asked for a 10 month period for last year’s figures)

Response

Please note that these data should be interpreted with caution.

Every effort is made to ensure that the figures presented are accurate and complete. However, it is important to note that these data have been extracted from a number of data sources used by forces for police purposes. The detail collected to respond specifically to your request is subject to the inaccuracies inherent in any large scale recording system. As a consequence, care should be taken to ensure data collection processes and their inevitable limitations are taken into account when interpreting those data.

The figures provided therefore are our best interpretation of relevance of data to your request, but you should be aware that the collation of figures for ad hoc requests may have limitations and this should be taken into account when those data are used.

31/01/2017 – 31,084
13/10/2017 – 23,071

2. The amount of rest days that have been taken by officers during the times specified below.

01/04/2016 – 31/03/2017: 25,331
01/04/2017 – 31/01/2017: 20,133*

* The HMIC asked for a 10 month period for last year’s figures so this figure is only for a 10 month period.

If you decide to write an article / use the enclosed data we would ask you to take into consideration the factors highlighted in this document so as to not mislead members of the public or official bodies, or misrepresent the relevance of the whole or any part of this disclosed material.
