I would like to know who the consultants are that have carried out the recent recruitment drive for the current Police Officer vacancies with West Midlands Police and the criteria for assessing applications.
The company are TMP Worldwide.
The criteria for assessing applications considers a number of things as each stage of the process unfolds.
The initial sift is based against performance in simulated policing scenarios where candidates need to identify good and bad decisions.
This is followed by a telephone interview, testing relevant competencies to the role.
If candidates score sufficiently well overall and reach at least the minimum standard in all areas tested, they will proceed to the national SEARCH selection centre.
This is a test against four competencies with role actors simulating typical conflict situations. In addition there is a written and numerical test followed by a competency based interview.
If successful, candidates proceed to fitness and vetting testing and then to a final interview panel chaired by a senior police officer with another member of West Midlands Police and a community representative.
