Knife Assaults (1913_17)

I would like to know how many incidents of assault with a knife have been committed in the West Midlands since the start of this year (01/01/2017)?

Response

To obtain the data we used the definition of knife crime from our recorded crime system

which includes other weapons such as broken bottles, sharp implements…etc.  The information below provides knives and assaults for the following weapons

 

71 – FLICK KNIFE
72 – KITCHEN KNIFE
73 – MACHETE
74 – PEN KNIFE
75 – CRAFT KNIFE
76 – LOCK KNIFE
77 – KNIFE – UNKNOWN
78 – RAZOR/BLADE
83 – SWORD
87 – MEAT CLEAVER
