  1. A) The annual number of homophobic incidents, crimes and detections recorded for the past six financial years (April to March)

That could include voluntary, dedicated, informal, part time or full time roles filled by staff or police officers of any rank who undertake work to improve the response of your force to LGBT issues and its relationship with LGBT communities. If so, please provide the following:

 

1) A sentence or two describing the role

 

2) Estimate the number of people carrying out the role.

 

3) Estimate the number of staff days each year devoted to this work. For instance, if you have one LGBT liaison officer who spends 8 half days each year actively working on the role, that would be 4 days annually.

WMP does not have dedicated LGBT liaison officers or LAGLOS. We do however have a strong LGBT network who undertake this role where required. There are also two reference groups which involve community members from the LBG and T communities who highlight issues that the communities are facing. There are 9 people who undertake this role.
