Driver Awareness (2972_16)

Request

The name of the supplier who delivers your driver awareness training.
The date at which you started to work with them
If they won the contract as a result of a tender, can you send me a copy of their successful bid?
If not a tender, then the basis under which they deliver the training for you?
The date the contract expires or date that you will go out to tender again?

Response

We can confirm that relevant information is held by West Midlands Police. However, while the majority of the information is attached to this email I am afraid that I am not required by statute to release all of the information requested. Please find the non exempt material attached. This letter serves as a Refusal Notice under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act) for the information that has not been released.

REASONS FOR DECISION

The Freedom of Information Act places two responsibilities on public authorities, the first of which is to confirm what information it holds and secondly to then disclose that information, unless exemptions apply.

In this case, this letter represents a Refusal Notice for the information that has not been released. The information is exempt by virtue of the following exemptions

Section 43 (2) Commercial Interests

These exemptions and explanatory notes are shown here:

http://www.west-midlands.police.uk/docs/advice-centre/foi/exemptions.pdf

In line with the above, I am required to complete a Public Interest Test (PIT) on disclosure. Please find this PIT attached
