I would like to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act for the following information –
* Since the online crowdfunding website GoFundMe started in May 2010 how many complaints has your force received alleging that a fund set up to raise money is fraudulent. Can these be broken down by which year they were received.
* Of these complaints, how many people were arrested on suspicion of fraud offences, how many were charged and how many were convicted. Can you give details of the sentences received by those who were convicted.
* What was the total amount of money allegedly defrauded from members of the public in each case of a person arrested, charged and, if you have the information, convicted.
I appreciate you may not have detailed information of what happened to the cases that went to court but I would appreciate it if you could provide the requested information for those people arrested and charged by your force.
I am writing to inform you that we have searched our records and the information you requested is not held by West Midlands Police.
