  1. Within the last 6 months, how many times has the “Computer system utilised by the Central Ticket Office” failed to operate in a sufficient manner.

No recorded information held.  The computer system utilised by our central ticket office is Pentip which is a national system used by all police forces and courts within England and Wales.

  1. The Computer system utilised by the Central Ticket Office, with the address known as West Midlands Police, Birmingham, which generates notices, which is stated that meets the provisions of section 172 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 ? how do you measure this statement and confirm that it has met the provisions of section 172 of the Road Traffic Act 1988

Pentip is a national system built for this specific purpose. The Central Ticket Office (CTO) have 14 days from the date of offence to send out a NIP. In relation to specific camera offences, this information is automatically uploaded in to Pentip from WMP Camera Enforcement Unit (CEU). Should the 14 day period have already expired Pentip will not allow the upload and as such prevent a NIP being generated. NIPs are printed daily by CTO supervision and subsequently posted via 1st class posted (accepted by the court as good service). Any problems with the upload from CEU would be identified and rectified, by supervision, on a daily basis.

No specific records are maintained in relation to this.

  1. What is the method used to equip staff in knowledge in the event of the “Computer system not operating correctly at all material times”

Staff are notified via CTO supervision should the system not be working and again there is no specific recorded information held.

  1. Are staff aware or do they have knowledge in the event of the “Computer system not operating correctly at all material times”

As above
