I would appreciate it if you could confirm whether the recent trip that Chief Constable Dave Thompson made to Australia in relation to the Commonwealth Games was paid for by West Midlands Police?
If the costs were met by West Midlands Police can you provide the following details:
1) The dates of which Chief Constable Dave Thompson travelled from/to the United Kingdom to Australia
2) The total costs of flights for Chief Constable Dave Thompson and accompanying guest(s) (if applicable) outbound and inbound
3) The name of the hotel/residence whereby the Chief Constable resided during the stay
4) The total cost of the hotel/residence in relation to the above question
5) The total cost of transport utilised by Chief Constable Dave Thompson during the stay
Point 2, in relation to guest(s) – my understanding that there were five West Midlands Police Officers in attendance with Chief Constable Thompson.
On the basis that I now believe up to 5 WM police officers went on the trip to Australia, please amend my entire FOI request so that all reference to the Chief Constable( dates, costs, and hotels) include the corresponding information for the entire police team attending so that the taxpayer can review the complete outlay.
I would also like to post an additional question to establish the compliance of the outing in relation to the Equality Act, namely FOI Q6, Please confirm the Rank and corresponding ethnic and Gender status of all the Officers who were chosen to attend the Games in Australia.
Please find attached our response.
